A house that is in step with the times, Maison Gardet was founded in the late 19th century when Charles Gardet, a shopkeeper with an adventurous outlook for the time, identified & settled his establishment in a choice plot at Epernay. In the 1930s, Georges Gardet, son of the founder, moved into a Belle Epoque residence in Chigny-les-Roses, with a very precise aim : to develop the Champagne Gardet brand, whilst continuing to supply wines of impeccable quality.
To achieve his goal, George first followed the Appellation’s strictest guidelines for the production of Champagne. For example, electing a stringent selection criteria allowing only the grapes of optimum ripeness. Although the company is very much a modern business today, the dedication and respect for tradition remains at the heart of the current owners, Christophe Prieux, Chairman of the PRIEUX Group, and Olivier Legendre, Managing Director.
