Willakenzie Estate

Yamhill, Oregon, United States

In January 1991, the Lacroutes (Bernard and then wife Ronni Lacroute) purchased a beautiful 420-acre ranch in Yamhill County and named it WillaKenzie Estate after the ancient Willakenzie sedimentary soil on which the vineyards are planted. Lying in the rolling hills of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA (American Viticultural Area), it was an ideal place for growing world-class Pinot Noir.

Passion for Pinot with a Sense of Place is what defines this small, family owned winery dedicated to producing Oregon wines with the highest possible expression of Willamette Valley terroir.  Slightly over 100 acres of the best slopes are planted to vineyards. The majority, about 70 percent, is Pinot Noir. Pinot Gris accounts for another 18 percent while the remaining acreage is divided between Pinot Blanc, Gamay Noir, Pinot Meunier and a small amount of Chardonnay.

Winemaking is guided by an uncompromising commitment to producing quality Oregon wines.  The traditional French winemaking methods and a gravity-flow winery combines the best traditional French methods with American innovation to craft wines that are complex, refined, and unique - wines that express the distinctive terroirs of WillaKenzie Estate and the Jory Hills Vineyard. A true reflection of Oregon’s cool grape-growing climate, with elegance, ageability, and balance as their hallmarks.
